'ALLÉE
SAMUEL BECKETT
FOXROCK 1906 – 1989
ÉCRIVAIN IRLANDAIS
PRIX NOBEL DE LITTÉRATURE'
It's fitting that this sign should be in an area lived in by Beckett in his last days, near Parc Montsouris where he used to sit. The 'allée' also reminds me of Hamm's paradoxical words about God in Endgame: 'The bastard! He doesn't exist', because the allée doesn't exist either, there's just this sign in the middle of the avenue René Coty.
