I can hardly believe, after many years of visiting the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, that I hadn't previously stumbled on the tomb of Théodore Géricault (1791–1824). And what a grave. The bronze statue of Géricault at the top, along with the bas-relief which is a representation of Géricault's painting of Le Radeau de La Méduse, are by Antoine Étex.
