Frog, Woodley, Greater Manchester

At an entrance to the shopping precinct in Woodley stands a frog called 'Baker Frog'. It strongly resembles the frogs displayed all over Stockport a few years ago, and indeed the frogs which were all over Hull to commemorate Philip Larkin a number of years before that. But I have no idea what it's doing there. And nor do I have a clear idea of what relationship the model, with the baby frog sitting on its head, has to do with the name. A Google search came up with nothing.
