Paul Drouot (1886-1915) was a poet born in Vouziers, Ardennes, who died during the First World War in Aix-Noulette, Pas-de-Calais. The town honoured its son with this monument, which includes a few words of his writings at the rear.
'JE REGARDE LA GLOIRE, AVEC TRANQUILLITÉ
COMME UNE PLAGE VOIT LA MARÉE QUI COMMENCE
JE TÂCHE D'ARRACHER UN BEAU VERS À MA VIE'
