Until relatively recently the grave of Taos Amrouche wouldn't have meant a great deal to many people. The Algerian singer, dancer and writer was the daughter of the writer Fadhma Aït Mansour Amrouche and the sister of the writer Jean Amrouche. With her brother she conducted a number of interviews with Jean Giono, with whom she was madly in love, with whom she had a brief affair, and of whom she wrote in her Carnets intimes, which was not published until 2014.
