Jules Adler (1865–52) was a naturalist painter who was born in Luxeuil-les-Bains and died in Nogent-sur-Marne. His home in Paris was a center for the Dreyfusards. He became noted for his paintings of the working classes, and set up a canteen in Pigalle to help artists during World War I. He died in relative poverty.
