Juan Bautista Piñeiro (1945–1994) was born in Spain, brought up in Buenos Aires, and spent many years in France. He certainly wasn't only a poet as suggested here: he wrote the novels Le Voyage nu (1977) and Les Amours du Nil (1981), and the play Boulevard du mélodrame (1985) for the Aubervilliers theatre.
He died of AIDS in Paris.
