Marcel Carné (1906–96), the world famous film director noted perhaps mostly for Quai des brumes (1938), Hôtel du Nord (1938) and Le Jour se lève (1939). He was homosexual and is buried with his partner, the actor Roland Desaffre (1927–2009).
