Edmond Haraucourt (1856–1941) was a poet, novelist, composer, parolier, journalist and curator of the musée de Trocadéro (1894–1903), followed by the musée de Cluny (1903–25). He was a member of the club Les Hydropathes, founded by Émile Goudeau, and began his writing career with the (at the time) risqué La Légende des sexes, poèmes hystériques et profanes (1882) under the pseudonym 'Sire de Chambley'.
