BORN MAY 15, 1775, DIED FEBRUARY [?], 1867

GOETHE AND WORDSWORTH, WIELAND
AND COLERIDGE, FLAXMAN AND BLAKE,
CLARKSON AND CHARLES LAMB,
HONOURED AND LOVED THE GREAT
AND NOBLE IN THEIR THOUGHTS
AND CHARACTERS.
HIS WARMTH OF HEART AND
GENIAL SYMPATHY EMBRACED ALL
WHOM HE COULD SERVE,
ALL IN WHOM HE FOUND A RESPONSE
TO HIS OWN HEALTHY TASTES.
HIS RELIGION CORRESPONDED TO HIS LIFE,
SEATED IN THE HEART
IT FOUND EXPRESSION IN THE TRUEST
